Lionel Standard Gauge 400E Blue Comet Set VG
Lionel Standard Gauge 400E Blue Comet set. Set includes the 400E loco, tender, and three passenger cars - the 420 Faye Pullman, 421 Westphalia Pullman, and 422 Tempel observation. These locos were made from 1931 to 1939 in ten different color/trim variations.
The blue locos were made from 1934 to 1935. The set has some issues - namely that the loco runs in one direction only, the frame has had extra holes added to the fire box area, and the air tanks are replacements, as are the number boards and two pony truck wheels.
The roof of the Faye has dents as shown, and the Tempel has a few loose seats. Overall, the set is in Very Good Minus (C6-) condition.
