Lionel Santa Fe, Complete O27 / O42 Gauge Diesel Passenger Train Set. This is a used Lionel Santa Fe passenger train set including Lionel postwar 200 series Alco A-A diesel locomotives.
It is a complete train set with post war diesel locomotives, 3 passenger cars and operating components (all built from about 1947 to about 1966). All train and operating components are in excellent condition, and everything in the set works as it should.
Included in this sale are the following. 1 - Lionel #215 Alco Santa Fe powered A unit diesel locomotive with 2 axle magnetraction, a 3 position e unit which allows it to operate in forward and reverse directions controlled from the transformer, working headlight and lens / cab light, decorative horn, windshield insert and an operating horn controlled from the transformer. The 215 was built in 1964.
1 - Lionel #218 Alco Santa Fe unpowered A diesel dummy locomotive with decorative horn, and windshield insert. This 218 was built in August of 1957. 1 - Lionel #2405 Santa Fe illuminated passenger coach with operating couplers and window silhouettes. The 2405 was built from 1964 to 1965. 1 - Lionel #2408 Santa Fe illuminated passenger coach with operating couplers and window silhouettes. The 2408 was built in 1966. 1 - Lionel #2406 Santa Fe illuminated observation coach with an operating front coupler and window silhouettes. The 2406 was built from 1964 to 1965. 1 - Lionel #1042 75 watt transformer with a speed control, reversing push-button, a horn / whistle control, a 120 volt power cord with wall plug and a 2 conductor track power cable with a Lionel CTC connector to connect to the track.
The 1042 was built from 1947 to 1948. 1 - Plasticville suburban passenger station / platform. 12- Lionel O27 / O42 brown tie curved track sections. 4 - Lionel O27 brown tie straight track sections. 1 - Track polishing pad. 1 - Standard operating instruction booklet. I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All of the train components are in very good condition. The passenger cars also have playwear scuffs, and dirt smudges, but are in excellent operating condition. The O27 / 042 tracks are also in excellent condition, and make up a nice sized 42" x 60" oval. I lightly cleaned them and made sure the train runs nicely on them.
