Lionel 385E Loco 384T Tender Gunmetal Copper/Brass OBs Standard Gauge X1972

  

Enameled diecast and metal loco and tender, made about 1933 (first year) are dark gunmetal with copper and brass trim. Loco has red-center original wheels, 3-position E-unit reverse and Chugger mechanism. The Chugger is Lionels first attempt at chugging sound, a bit raspy but does have a switch to turn it off. Diecast loco cylinders are replaced, otherwise looks original and complete, other castings are solid originals. Loco has some edge wear, mainly on frame, boiler front and cab roof, some tarnish on trim, light corrosion on rods, otherwise is VG+. Tender is super-clean and original, looks EX+, had to look at it a while to convince myself it was original. Includes nice/correct original boxes with original insert for tender box. A nice example, L&T are 23 long. (new-old-stock), are graded and represented as vintage collectibles. Operational ability and characteristics or completeness of vintage motors, mechanisms, wiring, bulbs etc are not guaranteed. We do not guarantee coupler operation.
