A Little on the collection. From a superb single owner collection of Gauge 1 live steam locomotives that will be coming up for sale on our website in the next couple of weeks. All have been operated by an experienced modeler and have been serviced by the owner prior to sale. The collection includes many hard to find items including Aster locomotives and many from well known builders such as John Barret, Dave Baker and Felix Spring. All were bought to be used as smooth and powerful locomotives and as such, have been built by renowned builders, factory built by Aster, or in a few cases built by the owner himself (who built many Aster kits for others). Dave Baker Gauge 1 Live Steam Scratch Built GNR Atlantic 4-4-2'251' (Spirit-fired). A truly remarkable locomotive professionally built by Dave Baker.
This Atlantic features 3 interior cylinders, spring-compensation to the leading/trailing bogies and drive wheels. Pressure and water gauge, removable water tank, hand pump with lever, sprung buffers and link couplings and slip eccentric reversing. This beautiful loco has been finished in fully lined GNR livery and is in very good overall condition with some paint chipping coming from it's run-outs on a garden railway.
