This is a Lionel 1928-30 O gauge 97E train set. It includes a 251E Locomotive, three 605 Coach Cars and one 606 Observation. The set was issued with only two 605 Coach cars, one extra has been added. The engine is the version with an automatic reverse unit and it works fine. The motor runs fine, but the wheels need to be replaced if you intend to run it on a track. The set looks good, but has some minor scratches. All of the trim and doors are present and good. The hand railing on the back of the observation has some corrosion. Remarkable condition for a set over 100 years old that still runs. Trucks and couplers on cars all good. Last two pictures show the motor with the cab removed.
