Pre-War Antique American Flyer O Gauge model train full set from 1937. Everything appears to be made by the American Flyer company in the late 1930s.
This set is untested and definitely looks it age but other than dirt and corrosion it in general is in amazing shape for being >70 years old and having been stored in someone's attic/closet/basement/garage since the 70's. Everything below is what I have been able to surmise based on internet searches and discussions with collectors.
Like I cannot guarantee the condition of these items I also cannot guarantee that my descriptions and assumptions are correct but every effort has been made to verifying the information. Engine is a 1937 AF model 1680 2-6-4. Tender is a 1937 #1623 12 wheel tender. Caboose appears to be a model 3211 also from the mid/late 30's. This model initially lit up, pulling electricity from the track. Does not appear to have a lamp installed, no idea if the electrical connections are still good. I believe the Box Car is a model 3208, same era, and has functioning sliding doors. The Tanker is likely a 3210 from the same set but is unfortunately missing the dome. The flat car / Lumber car is likely a 3046 and impressively still has the original lumber and "tie downs".
The Gondola car (open top coal/ore car) appears to be a #3207 from the same era as well. This includes 12 each of curved and straight three rail track and a power track (for connecting to the transformer) that is missing a connection. The included era correct transformer, also likely originally from the same set is a model 1283 100watt AC transformer. (This is untested but appears complete).
And finally, the sets includes a "Whistling Billboard" probably model 2029. There is no activation button but it may have been automatic when the transformer current was raised above a certain voltage.
This has also not been tested. (Is in original box - missing box top).
Please see the pictures for details on condition. In most cases the wheels and general structure of all pieces are in very good shape, (unless note above) however every piece has some level of corrosion some quite significant and will likely need to be restored or at least treated to stop any expansion of the rust. One exception is the following wheels on the locomotive which are literally falling apart and would need to be replaced if this train was to run. I have not included that as an option on the listing. Model Train Set, Railroad, Rail Road, O Scale, 0 gauge, 027, Vintage, Lionel, American Flyer, Hafner, Marx.
