Lionel MTH 408E Standard Gauge Brown State Car 412 413 415 416 Pass Set #MM. Lionel MTH 408E Standard Gauge Two-Tone Brown State Car 412 413 415 416 Passenger Set, This is the 2000 remake of the Classic Lionel set with the add-on Solarium car. Set includes 10-1132-408E Locomotive , 10-1135A #412 California Passenger Car, 10-1135-B #413 Colorado Passenger Car, 10-1135C 415 Maryland Solarium Car, 10-1135D 416 New York Observation Car. Locomotive two precision Pittman Motors, all metal construction, directional headlights, stamped steel body & chassis, die-cast pilots, bright baked enamel finish, brass trim, digitally recorded horn & bell, operates on Standard Gauge Track and is equipped with Proto-Sound 2.0 with Digital Command System features and Passenger Station Proto-Effects. The cars feature baked enamel finish, brass & nickel trim, stamped steel body & chassis, metal wheels & axles, operating metal latch couplers, overhead interior lighting, detailed interiors, hinged roofs for interior access, metal passenger seats that swivel, two washrooms and restrooms with opening doors (observation car has only 1) each car measures, 22 1/2 4 1/8" 6 1/4" and operate on Standard 42 curves.
Locomotive has a brand MTH 9 volt Ni-Cad battery in it and is ready to go. Set is in excellent condition with its original boxes. However the boxes show some significant wear on them, the car have some paint rubs on them as well. The cars might have some lose trim stanchions, and the 415 Maryland car is pushed in slightly on the one side. Set is a Production Sample from MTH's Warehouse, which means it was one of the very first sets produced by MTH before the set went into regular production. Thus the cars have factory writing, numbers, and stickers on their underside, on their original box have some writing stating that they are the production samples, as can be seen in photos.
