Basset-Lowke LMS 4-6-2 Stanier Pacific class'Princess Elizabeth' No 6201 3 rail DC'O' Gauge locomotive and tender. Condition is excellent with minor wear chips to some edges. Box and labels are a copy of the original. The loco was hand built as one of a very limited run by the highly skilled Bob Chester Lamb using his extensive collection of original Bassett-Lowke parts some 15 years ago and was quite expensive.

I believe i t was painted by Chris Littledale and this shows in the quality of the finish. Runs perfectly and is easily capable of pulling a train of eight B-L coaches. It is indistinguishable from the 1939 B-L original of the same name especially as it was made using original parts.
This is a truly stunning model for display or running as can be seen from the photos. Please study the photos carefully as they form part of the description. 6201 was built at Crewe and named'Princess Elizabeth' after the then Duke of Yorks eldest daughter, now the Queen. The locomotive left the works on 3rd November 1933 and in 1937 set a world record at an average speed of 68.2 mph on the journey between London and Glasgow in the hands of driver Tom Clarke. Its classmate 6200 was named'Princess Royal' and a total of 12'Lizzies' were produced. 6203 Princess Margaret Rose has also been preserved.
